With 30.6 million bloggers in the world, there is something to this blogging thing. And you’re looking for an easy step-by-step guide on how to start a blog, am I right?

There are blogs like CopyBlogger and TechCrunch that net millions each month. CopyBlogger – $1,000,000 per month and TechCrunch – $2,500,000 per month. If you think that is out of your reach – what if you just made 10% of that per month?

If you want to learn how to create a blog for profit, you may be tired of finding only part of the information you need. Continue reading this post for all the information you need to get started.

What Is a Blog?

If you aren’t familiar with what a blog is, I did a whole post on it here: What is a blog? But the short answer is that a blog is a non-static website. Basically, it is a part of a website that is continually updated.

Most people recommend updating your website on a weekly basis.

How easy is it to start a blog? And should I start one?

Blogging isn’t for everyone but if you like to write or are ready to outsource the blog content to someone else, I think everyone should have a blog.

Blogging is a way to get your message out to people, share helpful information and make money off of doing so.

Choosing Your Blog’s Niche

A thought pops into your head one day and you type into the search “how to start a blog”. There are plenty of search results but some of them are confusing as heck and you’ve probably seen some posts about choosing your niche.

I get it.

When I first started out I remember that I made a blog about the different things my family had done each day. This was long before people were making tons of money with YouTube and travel blogs. I had no idea how to make that business model work so it totally flopped.

When you are learning how to start a blog, the most important decisions are made BEFORE you actually start blogging.

One of those important decisions is choosing your niche, whether it be a lifestyle, finance, mom blog, etc.

For the newbies, let me talk to you a little bit about niching down which is one of the steps to start a blog for profit.

infographic about tips for choosing your blog niche

How to Start a Blog – Why Have a Niche Blog?

Why have a niche blog? Why not blog about whatever comes to your mind? Well, I suppose you could do that and there are some people that have been successful with general blogging and sharing their thoughts.

The only problem with blogging about everything comes back down to the whole thing about…

…”talk to everyone and you’re talking to no one.” and “you can’t please everyone.”

When you niche down, you know exactly who you are talking to and how to talk to that audience. You also find it easier to create content that is going to keep the audience coming back.

If you want to blog about other things, start another blog that is on the other topic.

Now that you understand why it is important to have a niche blog, how do you decide what to write about? Which niche should you blog be about?

Don’t let all of these questions confuse you. Get the answers to them.

Important Factors for Choosing Your Niche

When you are thinking about choosing your niche as you are learning how to start a blog, you may have read that you need to blog about something you are passionate about.

Let me tell you that this could be a good piece of advice or it could be the kiss of death to your blog. What do I mean?

If you are passionate about health and wellness or helping people have clear skin, it might be a good piece of advice. On the other hand, if you are passionate about learning how to play the kazoo under water – not so much.

Your blog is not about you. At least, it isn’t if you are trying to make money with your blog.

Your blog is about providing information or entertainment that your readers want.

If you are blogging for you then don’t expect to make any money. Hey – I’m just being honest with you. Want to argue? How is it working for you so far?

Here are some niches that I know are “money niches” and have plenty of traffic available:

  1. How to Make Money
  2. Personal Finance
  3. Health & Wellness
  4. Fitness
  5. Starting a Home Business
  6. Beauty & Fashion
  7. Women’s Lifestyle
  8. Survival
  9. Acid Reflux
  10. Affiliate Marketing

Can you guess what all of these niches have in common?

Yes, you in the back.

Right!

They are all niches that people want their problem solved right away. They aren’t going to procrastinate on their purchase.

While you are still going to need a sales funnel (or refer to people that have awesome sales funnels), if you are marketing to the right people, it is going to be much easier to make money.

Another thing to think about when you have chosen one of the “money niches” is that there is a lot of traffic so you have more opportunities to get in front of people since more people are looking for a solution.

Choosing Your Niche – You’ve got to stick with it.

If you do a couple of blog posts and are upset that you aren’t making money, that isn’t a surprise to me. You might even write 20 blog posts and see no money in your account.

True, you could be one of the stories that people make thousands of dollars in their first month. If so – great! I was not one of those stories and neither are most people. lol

Either way… REMEMBER:

  1. Niche with money.
  2. Niche that has a lot of people searching.
  3. It doesn’t have to be something you’re passionate about.
  4. You don’t have to already know about your niche.

To speak to point number four, there is no reason you have to already know about your niche. You can research the content, put your own spin on it, make it bigger, make it better and you’re in business. Before long, you’ll be an expert. lol

Everyone has to learn some way, right?

How to Plan Your Blog Content

When you are learning about how to start a blog, planning your blog content is extremely important. Winging your content may work to some extent, but it isn’t going to give you the best results.

Why Is Planning Your Blog Content Important?

If you aren’t a structured person, you might find it challenging when you come to the planning your blog content part of your blog. Understanding why it is important might help light a fire under you.

  1. Site Structure is important for search engine optimization as well as for user experience. When your site is easy to navigate, users are going to be more likely to view more than one page at a time which shows the search engines your website is helpful. This can help you with SEO.
  2. Combating writer’s block. When you know what you are going to write about for a month, two months, or as far as you can plan out, you do not have to use as much of your creative energy on a regular basis. This way you will be able to focus in on other aspects of your business or blog that you need to work on.

These two main reasons are enough for anyone to take time planning even if you are someone that does not love to worry about the details.

Setting Goals for Your Blog

If you don’t know where you want to go, how are you ever going to get there?

Whether you are taking a road trip or you are creating a blog, this is something to think about.

You need to have goals for how much content you want to have on your website, how many email subscribers you want to get on a monthly, weekly, daily basis and anything else you want to track. Having these goals helps with each decision that you make. If you don’t have goals, it can get very confusing with what you are supposed to do.

Content That is Evergreen & Potentially Viral

Learn how to create viral content for your blog when you learn how to start a blog and create viral content and evergreen content

When you are writing your content, you want to write content that is “evergreen” meaning that people are going to be searching for and wanting to read this type of content for years to come.

When you do this, you could have traffic coming from a blog that you wrote five years ago because it is still relevant today.

When it comes to the virality of a post, this can get really exciting. If thousands or even hundreds of thousands of people share, repin, post your content, you could get a massive amount of traffic.

The best way to know if you are going to be writing about a viral topic is to see what topic in your niche has already gone viral. When you mix this is all the other tips on what to write about as well as the keyword research we will talk about in the next post in this series, you are armed and dangerous with some amazing information.

Keyword Research

In the next section, we are going to talk more about keyword research and why it is important to you, but you need to remember that keyword research is going to be a big part of your content strategy and planning your blog content.

You want to write a blog that people are looking for your content. One of the ways to make sure people are looking for your content is to look at the keyword information that can be found in the Google Keyword Planner which is a free tool from Google Adwords.

Here’s another great tool you can use.

I am going to assume that you are using WordPress as your platform (self-hosted WordPress that is).

If you are using WordPress, you are going to have a menu section you need to have planned out, categories, your permalinks (you want to set this for the post name without dates in the link or anything else fancy), posts, pages, about page, legal pages.

Having all the above pages planned out before you get your website set up is going to help you get through the creation process much faster, but if you already have your blog set up, don’t feel bad. You can still plan out your content in a way that is going to give you the same benefits as if you did not have anything set up on your site yet.

Here are some things to remember when you are planning your content.

  1. Always have a link back to your home page in the main menu.
  2. Create an about us page so everyone knows WHY they should listen to what you are blogging about.
  3. Never forget your legal pages since this protects you and allows the people that come to your site to understand how you operate. It can also help in some search engines since it makes your site compliant with various laws.
  4. Allows “breadcrumbs” to be displayed will help your users have more places where they can view more specific and broader topics on your blog.

Planning your blog content is a blog part of making sure your content marketing strategy doesn’t flop. If you do not plan your blog content or you make any other blogging mistakes, it isn’t going to be the end of the world. What it can do is set you back in your progress.

Once you have a basic idea of the content you want to have on your website, you want to go into more in-depth keyword research so you can see which keywords are going to be most likely to bring more traffic to your website. Learn all the SEO techniques that are working right now so you can have the best results.

Once you have finished planning your blog content and know what keywords you are going to use, it is time to get into action so that you can start seeing more traffic on your website.

How to Choose Your Domain Name

Over the years, there have been a lot of changes with what people understood as good practices for domain names. Whether you are an affiliate marketer, a traditional business owner or simply want to have a blog, almost everyone wants to rank in the search engines (especially Google). Why? TRAFFIC.

Did you know that your domain name can actually hurt your rankings in Google?

If you purchase a domain name that has a bad history you may have “spam signals” and your domain may have even been deindexed from Google.

What do you do if you bought a domain and this has happened to it?

Try again.

If you don’t, you’re going to be fighting an uphill battle. There is no reason to make things more difficult than they are.

How can you tell if your domain has been deindexed or has spam signals?

You can use tools like SEranking or SEMrush. You can also use the Wayback Machine to see what this domain looked like before you bought it (if anyone ever used it.)

Should You Put a Keyword In Your Domain Name?

“Back in the day” a big ranking factor for Google was having an exact match domain (EMD) meaning if you were trying to rank for “blueberry muffin mix” if your domain name was blueberrymuffinmix.com, you got points for having that domain. You can see how this could be abused, right?

While there may still be some positive “points” for choosing an exact match domain name, it isn’t worth enough if you have a brand you can use for the domain name instead or even your name.

If you don’t have a brand name yet, you may want to create one.

Instead of trying to game the system with EMDs, it is much better to have a domain that people are going to be able to remember so they can come back and visit your site from memory.

Check out our infographic below to see the 5 best tips for choosing your domain name.

choosing a domain name infographic and information about how to choose your domain name for your blog #domainname #blogging

What You Should NOT Choose for a Domain Name

You might have a company name or a catchy name, but it is not available. You could be tempted to put a number or a dash in your domain. This is not the best practice for a domain name. While it is not the kiss of death, it is not going to give you the best results.

If you MUST have a domain name, you might find that the domain name is for sale. Oftentimes domain names will go for a premium.

There are some domain names that have sold for millions of dollars. Take MM.com which sold for 1.2 million or maybe Power.com which also sold for 1.2 million. Hopefully, your domain name isn’t going to cost a cool million.

Remember when you are choosing your domain that this is going to be a long-term commitment. Don’t expect to do anything for a short time and see success.

It has been shown one of the SEO factors Google is looking at is the number of years a domain is registered. If you can register your domain for 5 years then go for it because that shows Google you are unlikely to be a spammer that is only using the domain for a little bit to get some link juice and help with your SEO.

Link juice basically means “juice” or credit you get for being linked to from a certain website.

If you don’t want to deal with link juice, you might want to look into marketing and getting traffic from Pinterest instead.

When you are choosing your domain name, you may also want to ask some of your friends and family for suggestions. If you have customers already, you can also ask your customers for their opinions. Getting feedback is always a smart idea.

Don’t delay your project too much with this decision making process for choosing your domain name. Get it figured out and get moving.

Keyword Research for Your Blog

Keyword research is another very important part of the process when you are starting your blog. What is a keyword?

A keyword is “blog” but a keyword phrase is “how to start a blog”.

We truly want to rank for keyword phrases over keywords for a couple of reasons.

  1. Keywords are too broad and our users most likely aren’t looking for exactly what we are blogging about and they are likely to keep searching around and refining their search.
  2. It’s hella hard to rank for a keyword these days. There is so much competition out there that I’m not even going to go there. If I “accidentally” rank for a keyword like “blog”, sure, I will take it.

<<There may be affiliate links in this post which means if you make a purchase, I would receive a small commission at no extra cost to you and I would only blog about stuff I actually believe in. See disclosure here.>>

What Is Keyword Research?

Keyword research is when you research what keywords aka terms people use to search in different places such as Google, Bing, YouTube, Pinterest, etc. so that you can put your content in front of those people.

If you have ever searched Google, you have come across websites that have done keyword research and optimized their content for those keywords so that you would find their website or blog and read it.

When you are doing keyword research, you might get overwhelmed with how many keywords that you find but its better to have a lot of data than too little data. Gather it all and you can sort out the keyword research data later.

How to Do Keyword Research

The good news is that you already know what niche your blog is going to be in because we’ve gone over this earlier. The reason this is important is that you are going to need to put together a list of your most important topics for your blog.

At this point, you can keep them very general and we will narrow them down as we work through the process.

Think of these topics as folders in a filing cabinet. We will then fill the folders with relevant keywords for each of these topics.

When you are doing your keyword research, you shouldn’t think of things from only your perspective. You need to back up a little bit and think about where people are in the process of information discovery.

You want to be able to start at the beginning and walk them through the process. You should have a goal of bringing them to your site, but also capturing their email so you can further serve them with more information. More about email marketing later.

Let’s say that you are a food blogger. You might have folders that are things like “grilled food” “organic food” “vegetarian” etc. Inside those folders are your keywords and we will think of them as files. You might have a keyword phrase like “grilled chicken with steamed broccoli” or “organic recipes for moms on the go”.

Once you have put together a list of keywords and keyphrases you have come up with after you’ve done your keyword research, you need to see if they are the right keywords for you to target.

Before you start the process of examining your keywords from the keyword research process, you can find even more keywords by looking at related keywords that come up on Google or Pinterest.

keyword research pinterest

As you can see in this example, when I type in keyword research on Pinterest, they give me other recommendations which means a lot of people that search for keyword research also find the other words helpful for their searching. Here are some good keywords “keyword research tools”, “keyword research tips” and “how to use keyword research.”

Now take these related terms on Google search.

keyword research on Google

Related: How to Keep People On Your Website Longer

More great keywords we get right from Google related search terms. Here we see “keyword research tips” has come up again but as also see another good term “how to do keyword research”.

Google Keyword Planner is not as great of a resource as it used to be. “Back in the day” GKP used to show exactly how many searches each of the keyword phrases got on a monthly basis but now that kind of information is only open to people that have a minimum spend on AdWords. It’s a good place to get ideas though.

Other blogs are a great place to figure out keywords. If you see a lot of other bloggers blogging about it, that is most likely because there is a lot of traffic there.

Don’t try to be unique. There are generally the same problems out there over and over again. Let’s take our boat detailing company, if we would have come on the scene and tried to solve the problem in another way (other than cleaning the boat), how confused and NOT interested do you think our clients would have been?

keyword research

Check the Competition

When you are doing keyword research, you ALWAYS need to check who is ranking for what and where they are ranking. If you don’t check the competition, you could be up against some giants and unable to rank but if you tweak it enough and go after the right keyword (because you did proper keyword research), you are likely to rank your website accordingly.

Note: Once you start getting some authority, go ahead and go against the giants. Everyone had to start somewhere and if you deserve the top spot, go get it.

How do you check your ranking report? I personally use SERanking because it is simple to use and it does not break the bank. You can get a 14-day free trial here.

If you want to see rankings in the search engines the fastest way possible, you will usually be able to do this using long tail keywords.

Long tail keyword example: Search engine optimization for local businesses

While long tail keywords aren’t going to have as many searches as shorter keywords, they usually have less competition.

You should work on ranking for keywords that your competition is working on ranking for but you should also find keywords they might be ignoring. It doesn’t take much buyer traffic to get results.

Once you have your keywords after finishing your keyword research, you need to work on your search engine optimization which will help with your first page rankings.

Creating Content for Your Blog

One of the very important parts of starting your blog is your blog content. You’ve already done your keyword research and gotten your domain, but now it is time to get your blog going with content.

What kind of content should you create?

There are plenty of types of content that can be made for your blog.

Some bloggers are really video bloggers and take their youtube videos and paste the code onto their site and they do not write any articles or at least not much.

Other bloggers do podcasts and post them on their blog.

Most bloggers write articles (and hopefully helpful articles) on their website so people are able to find them through search engine optimization (SEO).

There are a couple of things you need to think about when it comes to creating blog content.

  1. How do your readers like to consume content?
  2. What form of content are you likely to be consistent with?

Let’s say that you determine that your audience likes to consume content in the form of videos, but you hate to be on video. While you know what your audience will like best, if you hate doing video, it is unlikely you are going to make enough content to satisfy your audience.

It would be better to give your audience a blog post if you are going to be consistent instead of sporadic videos.

How long should your content be?

If you have opted to go with writing blog articles then you need to figure out how long your content is going to be. You might have a problem pushing out 500-word articles and now you see experts saying that you should make your blog content as long as possible.

How do you write a blog post that is 1,000 words, 1,500 words or even 2,000 words long?

Writing Hack: Not being able to write a long article is most likely a block in your mind. You can get around this by breaking up your article and pretending you are writing 4 500-word articles and then you combine them for a 2,000-word article.

What are the benefits of writing long blog posts when creating blog content?

  1. Longer blog posts are generally more helpful since they have more detail and thought put into them.
  2. Longer blog posts mean you have more content for Google to “crawl” so you be able to rank for more keywords since there are likely to be more keywords in a longer post.
  3. When you have a post with a lot of great information in it, people are likely to save it and come back later. These are good signals to places like Pinterest and Google and they are more likely to show your content again.

The most important thing you can remember when you are creating blog content is that you need to think about your reader and give them what they want. Your blog isn’t about you or at least it shouldn’t be if you want to make money from it.

How do you know what your readers want to read?

Write about what people want to read, great. Wait. How do you do that? How do you know what people want to read on your blog?

You need to figure out who your audience is. Who is your blog helping?

In my case, with this blog, I am helping people that want to live a better, fuller life. I help them do this by learning how to develop themselves and also how to earn more money.

Let’s face it, we can be very “developed” and still very broke. There isn’t a lot of money in reading personal development books.

When I am writing my content, I think about having a conversation with someone. I am breaking it down just as if we were sitting across from each other and I am explaining every detail so they would be able to take action after our conversation.

If you write blog posts that are big ideas that no one can implement, your success is going to be limited.

Some people try to give people only half of the story and then expect them to buy products and other things from them to get the rest of the answer. This rarely works because it doesn’t create a lot of trust.

If you are going to try this strategy, it is best to help them solve a small problem and then give them a product to solve the next step. This way, they know that you are helpful, they know you know what you are talking about, they know you are trustworthy and this is a winning combination.

Starting a Blog for Profit – How long should you wait for results?

This is a more difficult question since results can vary so much. The way I have always approached things is to go full speed ahead and course correct as needed.

I never gave myself a time limit.

If you are not successful within 3 years, you need to pack it up and go home because you suck!

While you might feel like you suck, the truth is that you are 3 years closer to your goal than you were when you started.

Do you know that it was 3 years before I started making serious bank with affiliate marketing? It was not easy. It was not fun and we ate a lot of noodles.

When I was able to hit the stage where I was generating hundreds of dollars a day (my biggest day so far is a little over $400 in a day) it was worth all the pain (and noodles) bahahah.

I personally believe that if your dream is your ultimate dream, it doesn’t matter how long it takes. It takes however long it takes.

If you take away anything from this post, it is the good old “plan your work and work your plan”. It still rings true today and it rings very true with blogging.

Be consistent and persistent and always enhance your blog content. Find new ways to communicate and up your skills so you can offer your readers the highest quality of content possible.

Learning how to use long tail keywords in your SEO strategy to get more traffic is a great idea, wouldn’t you agree?

Of course! Anyway to get more traffic to your website sounds like a good idea to me too. By the time you get through this article, I will help you understand what long tail keywords are, how they work with your SEO strategy and how to best implement them.

Guide on How to Use Long Tail Keywords

Grab your fav drink and get ready to learn about long tail keywords. B-)

What Are Long Tail Keywords?

Long tail keywords are, well, long keywords like “how to use long tail keywords” vs “keyword research”. One is long tail and one is short tail. lol Just kidding, we really don’t say that. Or do we? Whatever.

Anyways…

That is as simple as it can be with explaining what long tail keywords are, but why are they important?

You may have guessed one of the reasons, but maybe not the other.

#1 – Low Hanging Fruit

In most cases, you are going to find it much easier to rank for long tail keywords than you would for a short keyword term. The reason for this is because less people are optimized for the long tail keywords.

These keywords are a hidden goldmine where you can find opportunities to cash out that are flying under the radar. Optimize your website for the search term and if you have a decent domain authority you could be ranking on the front page pretty quickly.

If you don’t have a blog yet, you definitely need to check out my post about how to start a blog.

#2 – Further Down the Funnel

When people type in a keyword (keyword phrase) or long tail keyword, like “best way to do the keto diet” they are most likely further along in their research process. This means you are more likely to convert them into a buyer.

<<Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links where if you click on a link and purchase, I will get a small commission at no cost to you. No worries. I only promote things I believe in>>

Finding Long Tail Keywords in Your Niche

Finding long tail keywords in your niche isn’t difficult. You can go to Google, Youtube, Pinterest or any other search engine that autocompletes your queries and see some of the best long tail keywords.

You can also use keyword research tools to help you find keywords. If you try to do your keyword research without tools, that is like trying to get the water out of the Titanic with a small pail. Not a big pail. A small pail.

You can do the work manually or with a tool, but what is most certain is that you need to be writing a lot of content. It can get tiresome, but if you use a service like Blogger or if you hire a writer, it can make it a little easier to deal with.

The best way to get rolling and learn how to use long tail keywords is to get started with one foot in front of the other. Or in this case, if you are writing, one finger in front of the other!

Go get ’em!

Don’t you just hate it when new SEO terms pop up and you feel even more clueless?

Whether you are a newbie to internet marketing or a 20+ year veteran, you’re going to have to deal with new terms as they pop up, but I promise to keep you up to date.

Now I’ll answer your question “What does the seo term UX mean?” and what UX terms in terms of SEO and how you can approach UX to get the best results with your SEO using this important SEO factor.

UX stands for user experience.

How is user experience measured?

Google doesn’t reveal all, but one of the ways they can tell how much someone likes a website is how long they spend on the website.

If someone goes to your website and clicks away quickly, that tells Google that your website content was not the solution to the problem they had.

What do they do with that information?

If they keep seeing this result over and over, they are going to determine your search result should not rank well for that term.

On the other hand, if your user experience looks great and people spend a lot of time on your site, that means your site should go higher in the search results.

Many people believe that user signals are going to become more and more important in SEO.

Truthfully, whether it is important in SEO or not, we should all be working to provide a better user experience.

  • Builds trust
  • Builds lists
  • Builds Conversions
  • $$$ 😉

How to Grow Your Pinterest Following Organically

Computer with coffee in a lady's hands

Learning how to grow your Pinterest following organically should be on your radar, but don’t freak out too much.

While Pinterest is one of the most popular social networks, with over 200 million active monthly users worldwide you don’t need a lot of followers to start seeing success with Pinterest.

yellow background with a lady drawing out her strategy

Content from Pinterest reaches the world quickly and spreads like wildfire across other social networks. With many users reporting purchasing products because they saw them pinned on the site, it is important to have a sound growth strategy for your Pinterest page. If you want to know how to grow your Pinterest following organically, we have some tips for you.

How to Grow Your Pinterest Following Organically – Create a Strong Profile

You will need to have a strong, distinctive look and feel for your Pinterest profile in order to gain followers. Think about your personality and what you are trying to accomplish.

Establish a theme for your profile and keep that in mind with all of your pins and as you create new boards. Having a consistent theme across your Pinterest profile will draw in more followers and encourage them to stay longer and make return visits.

Get Inspiration from Popular Pins

There’s nothing wrong with utilizing a little bit of outside help, and fortunately, there’s plenty you can find without ever leaving Pinterest! Take a look at some of the trending or most popular Pins and determine what you like or dislike about them. Search within your industry or community to get an idea of what people are interested in viewing.

Draw inspiration from these ideas to come up with some of your own. Don’t copy content from other Pinners, but feel free to use them as encouragement. If you copy another Pinner, not only is that wrong, but you aren’t going to get the results that you want.

Takeaway: Get inspired but never rip off content

Pay Attention to Your Current Followers

If you notice that certain Pins are performing better than others, pay close attention to them. This is your followers telling you that these are the prized gems of your account, and that they’d like to see more things like them. If your current followers like something more another, it is more likely that new followers will feel the same.

You can look at the topics that you have covered and go more in depth with the topic, cover a different area of the topic and much more. The content possibilities are endless.

Follow Other Popular Pinners

When you follow other Pinners and share their posts, you are giving yourself the opportunity to gain more exposure. You can encourage your followers to view high-quality material which allows you to engage with them naturally and beneficially.

Make sure that you follow them strategically and that their posts are relevant to your account so as to not turn away followers who feel like they aren’t getting valuable content from you.

Remember that you don’t want everyone to follow you. You only want the right people to follow you. If everyone follows you, but they are not interested in what you are posting, you are going to deal with low engagement rates which could hurt your profile’s overall rating.

Use Relevant Keywords

One of the best ways to draw in new traffic is to make sure that your Pins show up on popular search engines and even within the Pinterest smart feed itself.

There’s no better way to do this than to use the right keywords that will engage your audience. Look to other popular Pinners to see what types of keywords they use in their descriptions. This can give you a good idea of what words and terms are more likely to get clicks. Use keywords in both your Pin titles and in the longer descriptions.

You can go to the smart feed, type in the topic you are interested in and see what related words come up. You can use these as your keywords.

Taking the time to learn how to grow your Pinterest following organically can pay off in the long run if you are strategic. Don’t lose heart. It can take time to be successful on Pinterest.

How to Make Money Online Without Selling Anything

lady with coffee and a laptop

If you’ve been wondering how to make money online without selling anything, you are not alone. There are plenty of opportunities to make money with the internet but most of them require that you sell something to see any cash come your way. In the same token, most people do not like to sell or do not know how to sell online.

Selling can be difficult enough when you are not trying to sell online. At least if you are in person, you have your personality to help with the sale. If you are online and not using video, you are depending on some letters on a computer screen to influence people to buy. Not the easiest thing in the world.

How to Make Money Online Without Selling Anything: Opportunities to Make Money Online

As you are looking through the opportunities to make money online, you should know that not every opportunity you come across is going to be legitimate. If you get involved with something and you are afraid it is shady, make sure you do your research. I have met a lot of people that have gotten themselves into trouble trying to make money online. On the same note, don’t let your fear scare you away from good opportunities since the “if it sounds too good to be true then it is” isn’t always the case.

Let me say the following three ways are not the only ways to make money online without selling, but they are a great start and they are not going to cost you any money.

<<The following content may contain affiliate links which means if you click through I could get a small commission at no charge to you>> :0)

Writing Blog Posts & Other Materials Online

Blogging is BIG when it comes to how to make money online without selling anything which means there is a need for people that can write. If you can write well, you can find a writing job even if it takes you a little bit of time. When you are starting out, you should know that you will probably need to take jobs at a lower rate to start building your references. Most of the websites like Upwork have profiles that show past work and how you did with those clients.

Let’s say that you don’t have any past work. How do you get a portfolio so that people are going to want to work with you?

I recommend that you write 3-4 articles in different popular niches. Make sure the articles are grammatically correct (you can use the free or paid version of Grammarly to check your grammar). Make the article 1,000 to 1,200 words wrong and do not include any filler content.

The niches I recommend that you write your articles in are:

  1. Weight loss
  2. Health & wellness
  3. Parenting

These are big niches and you are likely going to find people that will need writing done in these niches.

Tutoring

Another great way to learn how to make money online without selling anything is tutoring. You can tutor in a lot of different topics so don’t freak out and get worried that you are not qualified to teach online.

Check out some of the openings on Tutor.com to see all that is available that might fit what you need.

Paid to Read Emails

Let me say that you aren’t going to get rich from this stuff, but it is something, right? Inbox Dollars gives you $5 when you get started with a free account and you can get other bits of cash when you do other types of activities like watching tutorials and TV through their online player. This is one of the easiest ways when it comes to how to make money online without selling anything.

These are some good ways to get you going with your earnings online. Get started and you will start finding more ways. There is almost limitless opportunity online. Don’t procrastinate. Start right away or you probably won’t do anything. lol

Online Marketing Tips for Small Business

small business owners at marketing meeting
Business colleagues in conference meeting

Since you are looking for online marketing tips for small business, I have to say congratulations to you for still being in business. 8 out of 10 businesses fail within the first 18 months and here are 5 reasons why so many businesses fail.

five reasons businesses fail infographic

When you feel the deck is stacked against you, online marketing tips for small business may be one of the things that keep your business alive.

Many small businesses don’t know how to market their business online using social media, search engine optimization, pay per click and other digital marketing methods and this means there is a lot of opportunity for business owners like you who are willing to learn and implement strategies like content marketing plans.

Contents

Search Engine Optimization for Your Small Business

When you are marketing to a specific location, you have much less competition than if you are going for a national search term. For example:

Knoxville boat detailing is going to be much easier to rank in the search engines for than if we were trying to rank for boat detailing. The good news is that local business doesn’t need to or want to rank for national terms since they are primarily servicing the Knoxville Tennessee area.

I have gone over how to rank on Google without spending money in this article if you want to read more about the topic.

One of the shocking things I’ve found is that many small business owners have not even claimed their Google business listing. It’s as simple as going to the link, filling out the information and waiting for a postcard in the mail to confirm that you are indeed at the address in question.

Once you do this, when people search for your business, your listing is going to look professional instead of simply showing up as a search result. Google My Business pages almost always show up above organic search results.

To get even more reach in the search engines, you need to have a press release written about your business and then have it distributed through a press release distribution company.

There are many out there that will do the service for you for $200 – $300 and some are much more expensive depending on the options they offer.

Your press release should be news. It can be news about a grand opening, a sale, a new product or service. The better the news, the more likely it is to be accepted to the news sites where it is submitted.

Get Listed on Local Directory Sites

Make sure you are listed on sites like Yellow Pages, and Yelp. Plenty of people search for services and local businesses they need to find on these local directories and if you aren’t there, well – you aren’t there!

Guest Posting on Other Blogs

First off, your business should have a blog. If your business does not have a blog, well, I can’t even with you right now. Get a freakin’ blog man/chick.

Guest posting is one of the big online marketing tips for small businesses. You need to think about other businesses that have blogs that would get value from the content you are going to post. You probably already know some of the people since you are in the small business world. You can even offer to blog on each other’s sites.

When you do this, you are going to be able to get in front of their audience and they will be able to get in front of your audience.

Seek Out Professional Services

Marketing can sometimes take up a lot of your time and for some businesses, time is limited and so are the resources available in-house. That’s why it’s worth looking to companies like SaaS marketing agency, Robben Media, who may be able to provide the work you need without you having to lift a finger.

Outsourcing your marketing might be just what’s required in order for you to get the services you need and it’s likely to be at the fraction of the price. It also means you don’t need to go to the financial effort of having to hire additional staff for your business.

Social Media Promotion

Depending on the kind of business that you have, social media can be an extremely powerful platform when you want to get traffic to your website.

If you have a business that is easy to make visual for, you could put some pins on Pinterest.

For local searches, Pinterest usually isn’t the best. You’re better to focus on something like Facebook by running local ads.

Post Videos and Photos on Instagram, Flickr, and Pinterest

Consumers are visual, and with good shots, you can improve your brand. There are a plethora of high-domain authority sites where you can post videos and photos to build a following. You can use products such as t-shirts or towels with your logo. You can also post videos and photos of events your business holds.

Recording customer testimonials will also enhance your brand. When posting, use relevant descriptions and hashtags to categorize what you’re posting concisely. Ensure you follow others in your niche or industry. Be sure to like, engage, and comment on other people’s posts frequently to get noticed.

Have a Branded Email Signature

A branded email signature is an effective way of marketing your business and brand online. It passively promotes your brand to people you contact on a daily basis. Be sure to include social media links along with other relevant links to significant marketing pieces.

Actions Steps for You to Take Right Now

It’s all fine and dandy that you have read this article, but you need to make sure that you take action. Here are some action points for you.

  • Make sure you have a blog.
  • Reach out to another local business that has a blog about guest posting.
  • Claim your Google business listing.
  • Get listed on sites like yelp.com

When you get started with those online marketing tips for small business, you will start catching momentum. Your first success with online marketing for your small business is going to be very exciting when it happens but keep moving forward consistently.

Google Sucks: How To Use Pinterest to Get Blog Traffic

computer with overlay and text

If you think Google sucks and want to learn how to use Pinterest to get blog traffic then you’re in the right place.

I’ve hated Google more than once because of their algorithm changes. It seems that you can never know what they are going to change and how it is going to affect your blog traffic.

I do have to say that I do not hate Google or think that it sucks and I have an article about how to get on the front page of Google without paying, but if you are tired of playing with SEO on Google for a while then Pinterest is a great place to go.

According to an article on Forbes in Oct 2016, there were 150 million monthly users on Pinterest and the platform has continued to grow since this report and people aren’t only sharing recipes and craft ideas on Pinterest.

Pinterest is a search engine that is getting smarter every day. When you learn how to use Pinterest to get blog traffic, you may be blown away by the numbers going through your traffic statistics board.

I don’t know about you, but I love pinning to my boards both public and secret so that I can come back later and read blog posts that I find interesting. Some of the bloggers that are using Pinterest to get traffic are getting 2 million views through promoting on Pinterest.

Many of you are probably thinking, “If I knew how to use Pinterest to get more blog traffic, I’d be happy with a couple of thousand”. There are plenty of people that feel the exact same way and many of you are working to reach your first 1,000 visitors per month on your blog.

How to Use Pinterest to Get Blog Traffic – Pin High-Quality Pins Consistently

Pinning every once in a while is not going to get you to the following that you want. When you are thinking about how to use Pinterest to get more blog traffic, you can’t pin one day and not pin for a month and expect to get the results you want.

You need high-quality pins from yourself and from other people. If you only post your own content on Pinterest, you are going to look like a spammer. If you get greedy, Pinterest may give for a while but then Pinterest will take away.

Use Pinterest in a way that is going to add value to the platform and it is going to take good care of you. It could seem overwhelming to pin so much when you see most experts are telling you to pin 10-30 times per day to keep your account moving along smoothly. Some experts even say you should post 200+ times per day.

While manual pinning can be fun and get you results, it can also take a lot of your valuable time. It can take time where you could be creating new content, promoting your content in other ways or doing something offline like playing with your kids or hanging out with your husband or friends.

<< You should know that this post contains affiliate links and if you make a purchase through one of them, I will be paid a small commission at no cost to you 🙂 >>

One of the apps that I found that is super helpful is called Tailwind. There is a lot to learn with Tailwind so I will have to do another blog about that but basically, Tailwind is an app and extension for your browser that allows you to schedule pins and also allows you to use “tribes” so your pins are going to be able to get more repins and higher reach. Imagine yourself as the next big influencer on Pinterest. It is possible if that is what you are looking to do.

Read My Review & Try Tailwind for free <—- Or you can look right at Tailwind pricing here.

When you are working on any content marketing plan, you need to make sure you know what your goals are and there is no difference when it comes to your Pinterest strategy, so keep that in mind.

Organize Your Boards & Pins So They Are Easy to Navigate

When you start pinning so many pins, you need to make sure that you do not confuse your followers. Organize your boards so people know which ones are most important by putting the ones you want people to visit pin in the featured boards section or putting them at the top of the boards you have.

Pinterest allows you to make cover photos for your boards and it will allow you to make your Pinterest profile look nice and sleek. It also helps people understand what you are all about and if you are trying to make money online, this is important. You can see how I did my Pinterest covers below so people can easily tell where they need to go and which boards are the most important ones to me.

Follow me on Pinterest <—

At the time of writing this (April 9th, 2018), I’ve only been using Tailwind for 7 days as you can see from the below stats. You can also see that it has helped me A LOT and the good news is that I haven’t spent much time on it other than creating a few more graphics than normal for my posts and scheduling pins for a couple of hours but I have content that could go on its own for months right now. I didn’t procrastinate or it would have taken me forever. lol

Why Pinterest Is Easier to Get Traffic for Newbies

When you have a new blog and are working on ranking on Google for search terms you have a long row to hoe. This is because Google isn’t sure who you are or what you’re up to. They are “checking you out” to see if you’re a good guy or if you’re simply a spam site that is going to try to grab some quick traffic and game the search engines.

When you get on Pinterest, if you make an awesome pin and people see it, they are likely to repin it or save it. These signals say – HEY PINTEREST! This is a good gal and we should show her some love and they will show your pin in people’s feeds that are likely to be looking for what you are pinning about.

This isn’t your momma’s traffic generation game. You need to keep up your game so that you are going to be able to generate traffic in 2020 and beyond. Having traffic for a little while and seeing it go away because you weren’t continuing to learn is not a good feeling.

Besides for automation and making yourself easier to find through a high number of pins, you can also get attention through group boards. You can use pingroupie to find group boards that you can post to so you can get more traffic.

To give you an idea of what group boards are going to do for you, they are going to allow you to pin on boards that may have 1,000s of followers because of the promotion of the board admin. If there are 10,000 followers then 10,000 people are likely to be shown your pins and this could help greatly with your repins if you’ve made attractive pins that people want to save and repin.

When you’re trying to learn how to use Pinterest to get blog traffic, you need to make sure that your pins are awesome or all the promo in the world is not going to help you. Pinterest can be one of your biggest sources of traffic but you need to put the work in to make it happen. Happy pinning!

Pinterest Latest Algorithm Update & Best Practices

Recently Pinterest did a major algorithm update and bloggers are FREAKING out! They want to know what to do going from here and how to keep getting results or finally get results in light of the new updates.

One of the things you’ve probably heard is that you have to create new content for the algorithm. You might be thinking about how many more blog posts, product pages and other types of content you have to create. While creating those things is a great idea, you should know that new pins even to older posts are considered new content to Pinterest.

Pinterest isn’t being mean here or trying to hurt us. Pinterest knows its users love fresh new pins they’ve never seen before. They are doing these algorithm updates to help them and help us.

Create those fresh pins and use Tailwind to schedule them out and get the attention you want back to your blog, product pages, and other goodies you’re pinning about. If you’re feeling lost in the shuffle, Tailwind has a great SmartGuide that can help you through all the best practices.

If you’re worried about harming your account or anything scary like that, SmartGuide will make sure you’re following best practices. As you post more content through Tailwind, you’ll see further updates on how what you’re doing is working and what you can do to make your efforts even more effective.

Safeguard your account from being marked as spam by using SmartGuide and keep creating new content that Pinterest and your audience will eat up! Tailwind always knows the best practices for Pinterest since they are a Pinterest partner. Breathe easy!

PS: Tailwind also works with Instagram now if you want to market using Pinterest and Instagram.

How to Make Sure Your Content Marketing Plan Doesn’t Flop

photo with text saying content marketing plan

Whether you are just beginning with your content marketing plan or you’ve got the basics of it down, the tips in this article will help you understand not only the “how to” behind your content marketing plan but also the why.

One of the things people often leave out when making these guides is why people want to do things so it leaves us feeling confused and wondering if those actions make sense at all.

What is Content Marketing?

If you are new to online marketing, you have probably heard the term content marketing a lot. While you may have some idea of what it is, the easiest way for me to explain it to you is:

Content marketing is attracting people to you or your website through the use of content.

That being said, good content marketing provides value to the reader and allows them to see your expertise on the matter. It should build trust with them so they feel comfortable spending time money with you or their time on your site reading further.

According to the Content Marketing Institute, content marketing is the “present and future of marketing”.

I have to say that I agree with CMI. When I want to figure out who I would trust to buy a product or service such as website hosting, email marketing software or other internet marketing tools, I go to different companies blogs and see what kind of content they post. I would imagine there are plenty of other people that do the same thing.

What SEO Techniques Are Working in 2018? (2018 SEO Techniques)

1 – Clearly Define Your Goals

You should know what your goals are before you start putting your content marketing strategies into place. If you don’t know what your goals are, how are you going to know if your plan is effective?

2 – Figure Out Who You Are Talking to

If you start writing your content but you have no idea who you are talking to, you are going to write differently than if you were thinking of a specific person and working to solve their needs and answer their questions.

Customer avatars are extremely helpful when you are writing and type of content. You are basically creating a real person that you can think about writing to when you are producing any sort of content.

3 – Get in Your Target Market’s Head

Very close to point number two, you need to get into your target market’s head. This is not only for the type of content you put out but also for the frequency at which you post your content.

Some target markets are going to need more attention and want you to write more content for them to consume while other audiences will get annoyed if you are sending them daily emails.

4 – Don’t Get Sloppy

When you are putting your content marketing plan together, it is easy to get sloppy. You want to get it finished and you are throwing it together quickly so you can get started. This is going to shoot you in the foot if you do this. While we all make a typo or link to a dead link every once in a while, if you haven’t done proper research or there are a lot of errors frequently, your audience is going to get tired and go elsewhere.

5 – Get Expert Opinion (Your Target Market)

The best person to give you feedback on how you are doing with your content marketing is the person that you are marketing to. You can do surveys with sites like survey monkey or some other type of survey program that you want to use.

People are generally happy to answer and help, but make sure to sweeten the pot by giving them a chance to enter to win or something free for taking the survey for you.

6 – Figure Out What Type of Content You Want to Use to Market

There are plenty of different types of content you can use to market online. If you aren’t sure which one is going to be the best for you, ask yourself a few questions.

Do you feel comfortable on video?

How are you at writing?

Would you rather use your voice?

Getting clear on how you are comfortable expressing yourself will give you a good place to start. Some pieces of content you might consider:

  • Blog posts
  • Whitepapers
  • eBooks
  • Infographics
  • Powerpoints
  • PDFs
  • Case Studies
  • Templates & Checklist Downloads

Out of the above examples you can use one, a mix of or all of these types of content to build your business. As long as you are doing a good job with them, the more the merrier.

7 – Brainstorm Content Ideas

If you are anything like me, sometimes I can get blocked with content.

What do people want to learn?

What is going to catch people’s attention?

My brain is still stuck! UGH!

That’s nothing a good brainstorming session can’t help. Before I start my brainstorm session, I read a bunch of different titles of other blogs in my niche and usually what I get from my brainstorm session is totally epic. Some of the ideas are plain weird and I throw them out. lol

8 – Remove Any Fluff

I can always tell when someone either doesn’t know their topic very well or they don’t care about their topic. There is a lot of fluff and repeating themselves. It gets really annoying and I just say – buh bye to their content.

If you think that fluffing a piece of content up to reach the word count you want to hit is going to do you any good – it’s not. Find some more useful information that is going to help your reader and add that in but never fluff.

9 – Plan to Add Visual Elements to Your Content

Aren’t you glad that the entire article I posted here wasn’t text? It is great that there are some visual elements? Your readers feel the same way.

Figure out how you can incorporate infographics, photos and anything else visual you can think of into your content to keep people’s eyes and minds happy.

Why to Plan Out Your Content

Why can’t you simply fly by the seat of your pants with your content marketing plan? Why not just plan for a week out. While this can work, life happens. What if you are planning on posting a new piece of content and something comes up? That piece usually suffers and gets pushed out further.

If you have a plan for your content, you are much more likely to be able to get your content posted on time and keep your readers engaged.

How Long Should You Plan Out Your Content?

Unless your content depends on time-sensitive content, it doesn’t matter how far out your strategy goes. You can plan your content out a year in advance if you want. Many people are happy with keeping their calendar filled for 30-90 days.

If you are getting overwhelmed thinking about creating all of the content for your project, you shouldn’t be too worried. If you get in over your head, you can hire freelance writers to help you get things done. Always make sure to take any content pieces that are written and add your own voice to them.

Why Your Email List = $$$ Cha-Ching

You may have seen posts on the internet that says email marketing is dead but you shouldn’t believe that. The other day I got an email about a product I wasn’t even thinking about but I bought it through an email advertiser. Let’s look at why I did this and it will help you understand why your subscribers are going to do this too.

Here I am, checking my email. I had finished with some work I had to get done and I was going to go over some of my marketing strategies after looking through my email.

A catchy subject line caught my attention.

Why was it catchy? Because it solved a challenge I had. What did I do? I clicked the email to find out more.

Once inside the email (which was short and to the point), I saw it did indeed help me so I clicked buy and bought right away.

Something to think about is that I could have been one of the thousands that had been emailed but probably a small percentage that bought so don’t expect to send an email to your list and have everyone buy. You may only have 10 percent or even 1 percent of the people that open your email buy from you, but let’s look at some numbers.

Let’s say that you have a list of 1,000 subscribers you have built over time through content marketing and having them opt-in on your website. You’ve kept a good relationship with them by continuously providing value. You send an email out with a sales link. For each sale, you are going to make $100. 1{ba8cfd4c6840b585abbfde51fb1062f83fd12e192cd1904cfb5794cc8545e25e} of your subscribers purchase your product or service. That’s 10 people that purchased and $100 per sale and that makes $1,000 in sales commissions for you. That’s $1,000 for sending an email if you want to simplify it.

As you can see from this example, this is a very scalable and profitable model if you understand how to do it properly.

One of the things I like about GetResponse is that when you get started with their service they take you through a course to help you learn email marketing (this is for free). I have seen other courses that weren’t even this good that sold for hundreds if not even thousands of dollars so if you got the course without the service, you’d still come out ahead. Now let’s get into the GetResponse email marketing software customer review.

Things You Must Know

If you’re a newbie to email marketing, you are probably going to see a lot of terms you don’t understand. You are probably going to see a lot of strategies you might not understand. If you continue learning and stay the course, these things will eventually make sense, but give yourself a break as you are learning everything.

GetResponse Email Marketing Software Customer Review – What Does GetResponse Offer?

GetResponse doesn’t only offer email marketing. It is an all-in-one online marketing platform to grow your business offering:

  • Email Marketing
  • Webinars
  • Landing Pages
  • Marketing Automation

Email Marketing with GetResponse

Even if you are a complete newbie to email marketing, GetResponse has an easy to use interface. I find the drag and drop email editor to be extremely helpful since I have no desire to learn any more  HTML than needed (lol).

The autoresponders do a lot of the heavy lifting for you. Think about setting up an email series that will go out over the week you are at the beach and you do not have to do anything. Freedom anyone?

If you are a data nerd like me then you will love the advanced analytics. You will be able to see:

  • Real-time activity
  • Mobile view stats
  • Email comparison
  • Real-time ROI
  • Autoresponder stats
  • Contact stats
  • Social sharing stats
  • One-click segmentation
  • Smart reporting
  • Global view

While these online marketing terms may sound foreign to you right now, you should know that you will begin to understand them more and more as you get familiar with the online marketing world.

Take it one step at a time and you’ll be further than you would have been next month if you hadn’t taken any steps.

Webinars with GetResponse

The webinar platform is easy to use with GetResponse. I’ve held my fair share there but honestly, webinars are not my greatest definition of freedom. I really don’t feel like holding them. lol If you want it though, this is a simple platform that will help you achieve those. ?

  • Customize your webinar URL with a title
  • Use the advanced date and time picker for flexible scheduling
  • Password protect option available
  • SSL-encrypted URLs (this means they are safe from hackers)
  • Email invites and reminders
  • Desktop, smartphone or tablet joins
  • Record your webinars
  • Engage with your audience

As I said, good stuff. Just not what I want. :-p

Landing Pages with GetResponse

Want to have a snazzy landing page like the people you buy things from?

GetResponse offers mobile responsive landing pages. It’s simple to set up:

  • Select a template
  • Customize the page
  • Click to publish

Simple.

Marketing Automation with GetResponse

The robots are taking over and it is the end of the world. Nah. It’s an easier world though.

  • Scoring & tagging
  • Web event tracking
  • Cart abandonment
  • Automation segmentation

There are plenty of cool features available to automate your marketing so know when you are ready for it, it is there with GetResponse and not a price that will break your budget like some of the other autoresponder systems.

Is GetResponse Good?

I told you I would answer the question, “Is GetResponse good?”

In my book, I have to say that yes, GetResponse is good.

Why?

  1. Ease of use
  2. Free education
  3. Fair price
  4. Quick customer service
  5. Function
  6. Options

I could go on with this list but the best thing to do is for you to check out the free 30-day trial and see for yourself.

What Is GetResponse pricing?

Depending on what your marketing goals are and what you want, the GetResponse pricing is going to be different. Another thing that determines the GetResponse pricing is whether you pay monthly or you pay through a 12-month period (18{ba8cfd4c6840b585abbfde51fb1062f83fd12e192cd1904cfb5794cc8545e25e} off) or 24-month (30{ba8cfd4c6840b585abbfde51fb1062f83fd12e192cd1904cfb5794cc8545e25e} off).

Email Marketing with GetResponse Email Marketing Software

Once you have your GetResponse email marketing software, there are a few steps key steps you need to take.

  1. Create a Freemium (Giveaway)
  2. Create an opt-in form
  3. Install your opt-in form
  4. Create an autoresponder series

Creating a Freemium (Giveaway)

I am sure you have been on the receiving end of a giveaway. You’ve most likely entered your email address to get a free report, get access to a certain part of course, etc. All of these giveaways had one purpose and that purpose was to get your email.

When you are creating a giveaway, you need to make sure it is something your website visitors are going to be able to use or learn right away. You can give white papers, ebooks, infographics, checklist and any other valuable content that is able to be delivered digitally.

Creating Your Opt-In Form

Once you have your giveaway determined, you need to go into your GetResponse email marketing software account and go to your forms.  There is a wizard that will help you create your opt-in form and if you get stuck, you can use the live chat to help you through the process. This is the part where you need to connect it with your free giveaway so it is automatically delivered.

Installing Your Opt-In Form

Depending on the kind of opt-in form you created, there will be a different means of installing it. Once you create your opt-in form you are going to get instructions on how to install it.

Creating an Autoresponder Series

You want to keep in contact with your new subscribers. Continue to give them massive value throughout the first week. You can give them extra tips and tricks that will help them or you can make a video series. Whatever it is, make sure that you offer value and aren’t pitching them your product or service. If you make your autoresponder series a pitch fest, you are likely to lose a lot of your new subscribers.
