One of the things that makes blog successful is getting into a niche and taking over. If you can get into a small niche and create a lot of helpful content, you can great get results.

Starting Your Blog

When you start your blog, you want to get as specific as possible. If you enjoy mooing as a hobby then create a site specifically about mooing even if there is a larger hobby of making all animal sounds.

As your blog grows and develops, you can always choose to add more content that might not be as niche downed.

The best thing to do is to just get started. Keep working toward your goal and see how it goes. If you need to make adjustments, you can make them as you go. You don’t have to start all over again even if you do have to make adjustments.

Who Is Going to Read My Blog?

Don’t get too tied up in thinking about who is going to read your blog. The best thing you can do when you get started is to write to yourself. What would you like to read if you were searching for information on the topic?

When you’re writing your blog, speak directly to your audience. Create helpful tutorials, fun facts and other information you know they would enjoy.

How Does This Make Money?

As you’re doing this work, you may be wondering how blogging and writing about your weird hobby is going to make money. This is where ads and affiliate marketing comes in for the win.

See my post about reputable affiliate networks.

Now, I do have to say that since your hobby is a little weird, there may not be an affiliate network that carries relevant products. If there isn’t a network that carries products, you may be able to strike a deal with a company to do drop shipping or ask a company to set up an affiliate program for you.

You may even want to create your own course or sell your own products to your website visitors. There are so many options and ways to make money when you get creative.

Learn How to Promote Your Blog in 2019 or Be Left Behind

No one wants to be left behind, but if you don’t get your act together, that’s exactly where your blog is going to be. In the past and buried under a pile of nothing.

Promoting your blog is an essential part of its success. While it might be nice to think when we post a blog that people will magically find our content, but that’s not the way it works. When you write your new blog post, you need to have a list of ways you will promote your new content.

You should also know going in that some of your content is going to do great and some of your content is going to crash and burn! Yeah, sorry about that but even your masterpiece blog post might do really BAD.

The only thing you can do is give your blog the most promotional gumption you can! Here are my best “secrets” or tricks (whatever you want to call them) about how to promote your blog so bookmark this page to come back to it later.

Steps for Blog Promotion

These steps for blog promotion are in no particular order so do it in whatever way works for you.

1. Social Media

Social media. That’s where all the people be – yo!

If you want the people to come to you, go to the people. Whether you’re interacting with them on their own profiles, boosting posts on your fan page or in groups, don’t neglect people. Get in the trenches and find out what people want to know about.

Social media is a great place for research, but it’s also a great place to find people that are looking for the answers your blog post provides. Promote your blog post on your profile, fan page and in groups that allow it. You need to get eyes on your content, or there is no use creating it.

2. Video

People love video because it is fun and easy. Reading means you have to take time away from what you’re doing – but video, on the other hand, does all the work for you. Make videos you don’t necessarily have to watch to get value from because people will be able to play it without looking and still understand the message.

3. Forums

Many forums allow you to have a signature at the bottom of your posts. You can put your blog link there, so it shows at the bottom of posts that you make.

4. Blog Commenting

Comment on blogs that are similar to your blog and have an audience that would be interested in your content. Your comments should be helpful and add value to the blog, so they aren’t spammy. Most blogs have a section you can type your website in whenever you comment so put your blog post URL there.

These are super simple ways to promote your blog and will have you off to the races for blog promo.

How to Gain More Followers on Twitter Fast

With so many people active on Twitter, it is an obvious win if you can get more legitimate followers. I don’t mean fake followers like bots. I am talking about real people that want to follow you.

1. Have a Well Filled Out & Attractive Profile

Don’t start trying to gain more followers on Twitter if your profile isn’t fully filled out. You need to brush up and make it look a-mazin’.

You don’t have to be a model or anything. Just have a good profile picture where people can see your face and a good description so people know what you’re all about.

2. Tweet Valuable & Viral Content Frequently

Tweets have a short lifespan. The feed is zipping by so quickly that your tweet is going to be gone almost as soon as you post it.

By posting valuable and viral content frequently, you can keep your tweets alive and gain massive exposure. A retweet from the right influencer and your sweet little tweet has made its way around the internet.

3. Follow Influencers In Your Industry

Keep up on the latest trends and interact with their tweets. You want to get involved in the conversation so people know who you are and what you’re about.

4. Use Hashtags

Hashtags can get your tweets in feeds of people that aren’t following you. Look to see if any trending hashtags will fit your post.

You can also create your own hashtag so people click it to find tweets about an event, your brand or whatever else you’re promoting with your hashtag.

5. Get Involved in a Trending Conversation

Trending conversations have a lot of people involved with them. If you get involved in trending conversations where your target market is, you can get their attention and grow your following.

6. Share Your Handle On Your Other Social Media Channels

Don’t forget to promote your Twitter handle on your other social media networks. You could share the same content but it won’t be seen on one network or the other because of the algorithm but they see it on the other network.

7. Engage With People Who Engage With You

Don’t be a snob. Tweet back to people that tweet at you, thank people for the likes and other nice things. If you don’t show appreciation for people on your list, they might not follow you anymore.

8. Tweet When Your Followers Are Online

When is your target audience online? Make sure you’re tweeting when they are online. If you don’t know, just keep tweeting 24/7 and you’re bound to get them… lol

I use Social Jukebox to help me or otherwise, I’d never tweet enough!

9. Use Keywords In Your Bio

Whatever the industry is that you are targeting, you need to have the keyword in your bio. People looking for what you have can discover you this way, but you are also more likely to get recommended to your target audience when you have the keyword in place.

10. Use @ to Mention Users In Your Tweets

If you have something interesting you want to say about someone else or you want to quote them, use their @username to mention them. They will get a notification and are likely to look at your profile and tweet.

11. Respond with @ Vs. DMing

Instead of replying to people through a private (direct) message, use the @theirusername to reply publically. When you do this, people will see your tweets and it is another opportunity for you to get noticed.

12. Embed Tweets On Your Blog

Embed tweets on your blog so people can easily see them and click on your profile to follow you.

See the tweet I embedded below?

13. Be Helpful

The more helpful you are, the more likely it is that you will keep followers and gain new followers.

14. Don’t Be Afraid to Retweet

Retweeting other people’s content is a great way to build goodwill. It’s also a great way to provide more content your audience will love.

How Do You Know If Your Twitter Campaign Is Effective?

To know your campaign is effective, don’t just look at how many followers you are gaining. Look at the following 9 twitter stats below.

Using Social JukeBox to Auto-post

You guys have already read that I use Tailwind for my Pinterest marketing strategies, but Tailwind doesn’t have a solution for Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter – yet. lol

I’ve been using Social JukeBox since it was Tweet JukeBox and only supported Twitter. It has served me very well. You can see what I mean in the below screenshot.

twitter stats screenshot

Thanks to everyone that engaged with me. Follow me 🙂 I really love every minute of it and could get lost on Twitter for hours upon hours. lol I don’t have though unless I want to because of Social JukeBox and its awesome auto-posting skills. lol

Now, there are plenty of auto-posters out there, but what I love about Social JukeBox is that you can put your best content into “jukeboxes,” set your schedule like how often you want to post for each jukebox and it will recycle the content.

If you don’t have a lot of content, this isn’t a good investment for you right now. Get to work creating content. lol If you do have a lot of great content, this will totally change your life, and you will thank me. You will thank me a lot. hahah

I’ll show you a little behind the scenes below:

my socialjukebox jukebox

Here you can see my jukeboxes. I keep adding more content all of the time and you should too. You should also go back through and delete posts that you don’t want to send out any more.

For Twitter, you can be pretty darn aggressive. I post maybe every 20 minutes or so. I’m not sure, but it is a lot. Just beware that if you have more than one jukebox going, they are ALL posting to your account. Don’t go too crazy.

inside my socialjukebox jukebox

Here you can see what it looks like inside my Social Jukebox jukebox for my blog posts. See where the top one was created 5/15/18? And it last posted on 12/02/2018? Every time it posts, I get traffic, people heart and retweet on Twitter.

I just started using the features for LinkedIn and Facebook, but you want to go MUCH less on these platforms. Only jukebox them maybe 1-2 times per day.

socialjukebox sidebar

Here you can see the sidebar for SocialJukeBox. I haven’t even touched anything besides for switching accounts and jukeboxes. Don’t get overwhelmed with any of the extra options.

Here is the pricing on the accounts. I just have the lowest account, and it’s been doing just fine for me.

socialjukebox pricing

The good news is that there is a free trial available for Social Jukebox.  I started out on a free trial years ago and got addicted. haha I would go for the year subscription to get the discount because you’re definitely going to be using it a year from now.

What do you think the feature that would most help you is?

Let me know in the comments. 🙂

Pinterest Marketing Tool Tailwind Adds Instagram Marketing to Its Product Suite

I’ve been loving using Tailwind for my Pinterest marketing strategies, but now they’ve jumped in the Instagram game. It’s more than a scheduling tool for Instagram.

I’ve used another tool to help me auto-post on Instagram, but it didn’t exactly auto-post. It sent me a reminder. Lol, I didn’t want a reminder! I wanted it to do the work.

Tailwind for Instagram will auto-post for you as long as you make your Instagram account a business account. A business account is free and easy so no biggie there.

Hashtag Love and Hate

Hashtags are very important when you want to get noticed by people outside of your following on Instagram. It is pretty common for people to follow hashtags on Instagram just like they do accounts.

Staying up with the latest trends in digital marketing will allow you to see what Instagram strategies are most effective.

One of the most annoying things ever is trying to find the right hashtags for the posts. The reason it is annoying is not only because it is frustrating to figure out which hashtags people are searching for but also because it is hard to figure out which hashtags don’t have too much competition for views.

Now there is an Instagram hashtag finder. This hashtag finder provides an amazing UX that saves you time and energy.

I’ve used it on my mobile and the desktop platform.

Both make it really easy to find the hashtags that are best for the pic you’re scheduling.

You also get a counter that makes sure you don’t go over the max of 30 hashtags. ;-D

Check out this short video I did for you. 🙂

Instagram is a goldmine for bloggers and business owners, but it has been a constant pain for me because of the scheduling and finding hashtags.

In comes Tailwind hashtag finder to save the day. ;0)

I’m only getting into the basics on this part of the tool and creating content for all of the postings I am going to be doing so lookout for an updated posted with huge results. lol

<<There are affiliate links below. If you make a purchase, I may get a small commission at no extra cost for you. I never promote products I don’t really believe in. Read disclaimer.>>

What I Would Recommend

If you aren’t posting on Instagram yet – get an account! There is a free trial of Tailwind so you can try it out so – get the free trial!

No credit card required

(Wondering about pricing? Click here to read my article about pricing for Tailwind.)

I started with a free trial, and now I use the Pinterest scheduling tool both interval scheduling, the Smartloop and queue. I’ve done a little on the Instagram side of things but nothing close to what I know I am going to do.

Look out! lol

lady working on an iphone

You’re rich and famous now…

…and it’s all thanks to your fabulous social media following that you’ve painstakingly built for years.

Well, maybe that isn’t the case right now, but…

… what if I told you it could be?

By 2020, worldwide social media users are supposed to hit 2.95 billion. This stat means as time progresses there will continue to be more people to help you achieve your social stardom.

You can learn how to build a social media following on platforms like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and get paid for it – or can you?

Read along through this article, and I’ll share the behind the scenes truth.

How Much Are Social Media Followers Worth?

Before you go out and try to gain social media stardom, don’t you think you should figure out whether it works or not? While you see people on Twitter and Instagram having fun traveling and doing all kinds of cool things while getting paid – how likely is that to be you?

Here’s the legit truth.

You Should Learn How to Build a Social Media Following

True, not EVERYONE is going to get super rich from social media, but why can’t it be you?

According to Forbes, some social media influencers like Lyzabeth Lopez are cashing in at anywhere from $3,00 to $5,000 per post and up to $20,000 for a campaign.

HOT DOG!

shocked lady

I don’t know about you, but I’m still working on getting to those rates. bahah

I did experience one of the perks of having a nice Twitter following though. Amazon invited me to be in their influencer program. Basically, I get a cool little store of my own that is only available to influencers.

Yeah, it’s kind of cool, but whatever. lol

My point is – if you have something to say and a way to help people, why not get paid from doing that?

Whether you are helping people learn how to work remotely, how to have a better relationship, inspiring them or whatever your topic is – you should be paid for the help you’re giving people through social media.

That’s a big hint hint clue clue at how to build a social media following.

1) Provide Value to Your Audience

I remember the first time that I put a blog post together on a free blog site. I thought people would be interested in my life or something. I don’t know what was up with that… lol Hey, read my diary! hahah

I guess, some blogs do that without a niche, but mine didn’t do so great. bah!

With the various blogs that I have, I now provide value to my readers, so you guys actually want to read what I have to write. I educate on ways to make money without being in a solid location, affiliate marketing strategies, website traffic and all kinds of other great stuff that hopefully helps you live a better life!

Make Sure Your Content Is Stellar

When you create content, make sure you put your best foot forward. Less than amazing content won’t get the shares you want. Be sure to answer questions, give concrete steps of action and guidance on the topic.

While it is great to write about things that you know, you also want to use legit sources to back up what you are saying, so people know you’re for real.

2) Be Friendly (Network)

If you want to be truly successful, it is very helpful to have a network of people that will help you promote your content by sharing it on social media or linking to it from their blog.

Sometimes things are so simple that people don’t do them. I am genuinely curious about people’s lives and try to be helpful, and that serves me in life, and it could serve you too if you are sincere.

3) Be Consistent

Whether you use a scheduling tool or if you are consistently posting live on your social media networks, you NEED to be consistent. If you aren’t consistent, people are going to FORGET you. You won’t build a relationship with anyone.

If your productivity skills aren’t on point, you can read this post.

Here’s an example of what you could do for your social media in a given week:

1 Instagram story for the day, 2 Instagram photo posts, 1-2 Facebook posts, 4-5 tweets and a post on LinkedIn.

You may choose to use other platforms, but these are my favorites.

Just Get Started

Learning how to build your social media following is profitable, and it is NOT a waste of your time. Drop your social media handle to a couple of your favorite social site in the comments so everyone can follow each other. 🙂

Automatic Wealth by Michael Masterson Review

automatic wealth book cover

I read Automatic Wealth by Michael Masterson on Kindle, but you may choose to read it in another format. Either way, my thoughts on the book remain true. lol

Who Should Read This Book?

Anyone that wants to improve their financial well-being and is willing to work for it should read this book.

Why Read This Book?

Learn concrete strategies for building wealth and financial freedom in less than 40 years and closer to 7 to 15 years instead.

My Biggest Takeaways from the Book

I have to tell you that some of the books are a little dry because of its matter of fact how-to information, BUT if you can read through those parts, you will come out much wiser on wealth strategies.

1) Starting a side business isn’t as risky as people make it seem. – In the book, I love how he breaks down how to start a side business with very little risk. You hear about 80% of small businesses failing, and he explains why that is in the book and how to avoid it. I love that!

2) Money can be made from smart real estate investments in various ways. – I thought there was basically one way to make money with real estate by fixing and flipping the properties, but he goes into further information about how to cash in on real estate in every market.

3) You don’t want to retire fully. – I can tell you that this is so true. At 24 and 25, my husband and I semi-retired and were not only bored out of our minds but were also unfulfilled.

There are many other great points with this book, but you’ll have to dig in yourself to find them. 😉

If you are wondering how you can work from home and still be productive, then look no further than these 9 helpful tips and tricks!

Contents

1. Get An Organizer / Planner

Minimize forgetfulness by getting yourself a planner to write down tasks that need to be accomplished each day. Make a habit of writing things down right when you think of them instead of trying to remember.

2. Set An Early Bed Time

You need to treat working from home the same way you would as if you were going into the office. That means going to bed at a certain time and waking up at a certain time. Working from home is a luxury we don’t want to use and abuse.

3. Shut of Social Media

This is one of the biggest distractions out there for anyone, and it can totally eat up your time. By simply logging out of all social media accounts you get rid of a major distraction and allow yourself a break from the chaos that is social media.

4. Have A Designated Work Space

One of the most important things that you need while working from home is a designated workspace. Another thing you need is a fun and exciting workspace. Put up some pictures, decorate it with cute decor, and get yourself a comfy chair. Anything that makes you happy is great when it comes to boosting productivity.

5. Allow Work Breaks

Give yourself 10-15 minute breaks every few hours to stretch your legs and refresh your mind.

6. Have an Away From Home Office

Pack up your things once a week and make a journey to a local coffee shop, bakery, or library. A little bit of human interaction is good for morale and helps with your mental state.

7) Complete Chores On The Weekends

The thought of Chores can actually clutter the mind and cause your productivity levels to drop. Who wants that weighing on them? By completing your chores over the weekend, you are clearing the way to a fulfilling and happy work week.

8) Time To Get Dressed

When you don’t have to go into the office, it is so easy to just throw on some sweats. Did you know that the way you are dressed determines your mood and mindset for the day? When I am dressed in a nice outfit and have some makeup on I feel happy and get a lot more done.

9) Prep Your Meals

Have you ever noticed how much time it takes to cook a meal? Cooking takes a lot of time out of your day when you could be spending it getting work done. All you need is an hour of time on Sundays so that you are able to prep your meals for the week and clear this activity off the table.

There we have it; these 9 tips will help you on your journey to a happy and productive work from home life.
