Alrighty, Quicken Simpli, let’s get into it…

So, growing up hearing over and over again that the love of money is the root of all evil, you can probably guess that the financial education was a little bit on the light side of things. But honestly, most parents don’t teach their kids about how to manage money.

Why?

Is it because they’re jerks and they don’t want their kids to be successful?

Of course not. Well, at least most people aren’t doing that.

Well, I’ve tried didn’t budget apps and tricks and stuff so I could see what’s going on with my finances and try to get things in the best order as possible. Recently I learned on Simpli from Quicken.

Why I Chose Quicken Simpli

I have tried another tool like this in the past and it totally made my brain melt so I was not super excited about it. But I put Joe (my husband) in charge of reviewing different apps and doing a “deep search” comparison using ChatGPT and then doing further research to see which one would be the best fit for what we’re trying to achieve.

There were a couple of options but this one was the best one for being able to connect our banks and cards and have good reporting so we’d be able to track our checking, savings, cards, investments, net worth and everything all in one place.

What I Like So Far

I love that it pulls in all of the transactions from everything we have linked. It’s very easy to:

  • Categorize expenses
  • See income and expenses
  • Split expenses if you’re separating something that is on one transaction
  • Pull reports that help you be more award of spending habits

Pretty much the only thing I don’t like so far is that I don’t know how to use it yet and my ADHD perfectionism makes me want to burn the world down and say to heck with finances, let’s just go live in huts and grunt at each other again. Who cares if we have to run for our lives because our pets have turned wild and we’ve gone back to be savages?

You know… the usual thoughts that happen up there.

But yeah, so far this is a great tool and I’ll keep you updated. If you want to check it out, I do have an affiliate link. You can click above or click the banner and I’ll get a few bucks if you subscribe. So, if you enjoyed this post, feel free to check it out.
