This is why you need to make a list of priorities and make sure these things get done first. When you are thinking about how to stop procrastinating, this is the quickest way to make sure your brain knows what direction it needs to go in.

Acting Quickly

Once you know what you need to do, you should act quickly because this is how to stop procrastinating. Acting quickly will ensure that you get into action and start seeing that you are getting results. This allows you to start catching the momentum you need to finish the project.

Silence the Negative Self-Talk

When you don’t want to do something, you are going to come up against negative self-talk as well as many great reasons why you don’t really need to get that specific task done. Don’t listen to it or you are going to regret it later.

Give Yourself Time Blocks

Time blocks are going to be your friend when you are working away at getting something accomplished.

How do time blocks work?

It’s simple.

Let’s say you have a project you need to get done and you have all day to do it. Let’s give you 8 hours of working time. If you are doing time blocks, you can set 90-minute intervals where you will be focused and working without anything else getting in the way of this task and then for 10-15 minutes you allow your mind and body to get away from the work before you do another time block.

Knowing there is going to be a break allows your mind to focus and get what needs to be done finished. It also lets you know that this is not the time for other things to be entering your mind so it’s much more likely you are going to be able to focus.
